Hi, I’ve got a three year-old Australian Cattle dog. She is a splendidly obedient dog, canine good citizen certified and everything. She is very obedient and good natured to people, but she is terribly dominant when it involves other dogs. Recently I’ve got been having problems with her snapping at different dogs if they come up to her while she is on a leash. This is often not a drawback if I tell her to take a seat and the opposite dog stays a normal distance away. She does not like dogs invading her area and standing over her (she is solely thirty five pounds, thus most dogs tower over her). I call it her “Napoleon Complicated”. I attempted to work on the matter by putting a muzzle on her and fitting things thus I will correct her, however she realizes that she is in no position to point out the opposite dog who is boss while muzzled and refrains. We have a tendency to have recently started therapy dog training categories, which she is doing terribly well in.

Like I said she could be a excellent angel around people. In a therapy scenario she is unlikely to encourage other dogs on or off leash who can be allowed to be in a very position shut enough to upset her, but, if some instance did occur, I’d feel uncomfortable together with her snapping at another dog. In most instances, I will stop a scenario where she would be tempted to snap from occurring, but, there are some instances that may’t be avoided. Do you have got any suggestions? This is really more of a handler sigue. It’s your responsibility to NOT LET different dogs invade her space.
